Of all the things I made this year, Crocheted Scrunchie s were the biggest hit. My daughter wears them all the time, in her hair and/or on her arm, so I thought Christmas Scrunchies would be nice, too. I'm happy to say my duaghter thinks this Christmas variety 'is just as great as the regular, no mom, even better'! My daughter is thirteen now, so I'm wondering if it will last very much longer, that enthusiasm over mom made things, but I hope it does, because I really enjoy making things for my daughters. How I made them: Round 1: 40 dc around a regular hair elastic, close with a slip stitch in the first sc (40) Change color Round 2: chain 2 (counts as the first dc), 2 dc in the same stitch, 3 dc in every sc of the previous round, close with a slip stitch in the chain stitch (120) Change color Round 3: chain 2 (counts as the first dc), 1 dc in the same stitch, 2 dc in every dc of the previous round, close with a slip stitch in the chain stitch (240) Change c

DeleteWhat a cute and different idea. I am sure the person you did this for was very pleased.
ReplyDeleteThank you, LV!
DeleteThat's adorable! You didn't have politics in the back of your mind while making this, did you? Or maybe Heffalumps and Woozles? :)
ReplyDeleteNo, I didn't :-) ! I live in The Netherlands and my knowledge about politics in the US isn't really up to date, to be honest. Don't know who Heffalumps and Woozles are either :-) . But thanks for the nice compliment! Liz

DeleteI love your elephant. You are one of my nominations for my Liebster Award post here http://www.typativemamacat.com/2012/10/liebster-award-tag-post.html . Thanks for sharing your creative process with us.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Heidi! I'm very honored you nominated me for an award, but I have to say 'Thanks, but no thanks'. I think I don't deserve an award more than any other blogger. Everybody does the best she can and puts time and effort in her blog. Doesn't mean I don't appreciate it, though.
Deleteoh wow, that's cute. i wish i could be that creative

No, I'm sorry, but I didn't write a tutorial for this. Maybe you can find a nice pattern somewhere on the internet? Next time I make one I will think of taking pictures during the proces.
