Stash Buster 15   May I present the stash buster of stashbusters: the chain link garland!     And so simple to make! Chain 6 plus 1 for turning Row 1-40: sc in every stitch Cut of yarn long enough to be able to sew both ends together  Make as much as you want your garlang to be long Sew ends of every piece together, but in such a way that you form links That's it!

Stash Buster 12  My oldest daughter had a request again: a crocheted bikini that she found on TikTok. I had all the colors she wanted in my yarn stash, so I could start right away. I only had to change the colors on the edges, because I just hadn't enough of the lila, but I don't think it looks odd.  This is the result.      Pattern: Malibu Bikini by Deborah O'Leary Yarn: various colors by Katia and Panturo   ~*~   My Terra Madre Top was featured by Creative Jewish Mom and Oombawka Design !  My painted plant pots were featured by Elsa R Blog !  

  Stash Buster 9  This weekend my youngest daughter's best friend was staying over at our house. Almost two years ago we moved to another place, but they kept contact and every now and then her friend is staying over. She's ten years old and people at that age still love the little creatures that I sometimes crochet. She asked if I could make one for her, so I let her choose one. She chose this little fawn with flower garland and after some digging in my yarn stash I found just the right colors and could start right away, so she could bring it home at the end of the weekend.   Pattern : Rosie the Fawn from the book Amigurumi Treasures by Erinna Lee Yarn : various colors by Katia and Panduro   ~*~ My little flower bunny was featured by Annemaries Haakblog and Our Three Peas !  

  Stash Buster 8  In my Pinterest feed this funny sunny bunny came along. It was made of chenille yarn, but because I had a little bit of brown yarn in my stash I made him with much thinner yarn. Therefore my bunny is much smaller and can I use it as door handle decoration for Easter. I attached his arms to each other, so he can hold some spring flowers.   Pattern: Sunny Bunny by Lovely Craft Yarn: Capri Brown by Katia ~*~ The chunky chain link necklace that I made last week, was featured by Creative Jewish Mom , Eye Love Knots and Apron Strings and Other Things !

  Stash Buster 7 When I saw this necklace I wanted to make it right away. I really, really love the simple form and the large links. I don't wear jewelry very often because of my job (OR nurse), but I can see myself wearing this when I'm on vacation, wearing it with a V neck of some kind.  You don't need very much yarn for this project, so I can't say my stash is almost gone now, but all bits help.            Pattern: Virkattu Ketju by Virkkuri Yarn: Catona Black by Scheepjes ~*~   Thomas the Maned Wolf was featured by Creative Jewish Mom !  

Stash Buster 6 We all had such a great week here in The Netherlands! After a couple of years of having a winter that just wasn't a winter, with no snow or ice, this year finally the temperatures dropped low enough and for long enough to freeze all lakes, ditches, canals and channels, so we finally could skate on natural ice! Skating fever took over because skating is in the Dutch people's blood. It's were we grow up with. In my youth we could skate every year, most years for a couple of weeks in a row, but the last years winters were a bit limp. After almost a year now of staying inside as much as possible and seeing not many people, all due to covid (what else), this week of frozen waters and finally being able to use our skates after a couple of years, was no less than a present! Stash Buster 2 Another stashbuster: this Horse Shawl. This week my youngest has her 11th Birthday. As I told you before, she is totally into horses lately, so when I found two skeins of this grey wool in my stash I wanted to make something horsy from it, but I didn't really knew what. I looked around on Pinterest and after a blanket (too little skeins), a cushion (she already has about 100) and a stuffed animal (I already made one as a Christmas present) went through my mind, I thought about a shawl with horse embroidery on it. And that's what these two skeins became: The Horse Shawl!   Pattern: chain 35, then crochet sc's in every stitch, ch1 and turn Repeat until you think your shawl is long enough (or until you're left out of yarn, like I did, as is the whole purpose of this stash buster project; don't forget to keep some yarn for the fringe) The horse head pattern is from Kandi Patterns Yarn: Royal Grey by Zeeman     ~*~ My Dish Towels were featured by Oomba...

Stash Buster 1  What's your resolution for the new year, if you have any?   I didn't make much plans for 2021, because no one knows when we will go back to somewhat normal around here, but I set myself a goal: using up as much stash of yarn as possible. The irony will that using up stash lead to buying more yarn, because with just two skeins of yarn of some kind, I can't make anything of the projects on my list. So I'm awaiting skeins to make a cowl and I'm awaiting skeins to make another blanket, only so I can use the ones that I already have haha!
