Cat Girls

Image
Last week my little daughters went to a performance about cats in a theater near us (no, it was not Cats). The kids were allowed to come to the show disguised as cats. There was a playground where kids could play before and after the show, built especially for cats (lots of wooden cheese blocks). This is what I made for my daughters. Box full of presents!

Image
Did you see? Three followers this week!! YAY!! Thank you, ladies! ~*~ Today I went to the market and bought these two fabrics.   Especially the one with the flowers is beautiful, don’t you think? I want to make two circle skirts from it. It’s been a while since I made clothes for myself, most of the time the few things that I sew are for my daughters. The shopping for my own clothes is mostly done on the internet (because you may not believe this, but I HATE shopping). I found a very easy pattern for the skirts, so I don’t expect any problems. I think the skirts will look very pretty with the petticoat I bought some weeks ago. ~*~ This weekend I’m going to visit a friend to see her little baby daughter. As a gift I made  her this paper box full of presents. The idea for the heart I found at the crafty cpa . Image
First of all : I have a follower! My first! Yippie-a-yee! ~*~ Then : my latest project. I made this padded mat for an expecting friend for her baby to play on. Polish Chandelier

Still within the frame of the upcoming second birthday of my youngest daughter I made this yesterday: It’s called a Polish chandelier and the inspiration for this wonderful idea I found at Oh Happy Day. Tutti Frutti

My sister gave me two pots of tutti frutti yesterday and that brings back sweet memories… My dearest grandmother, who isn’t among us anymore, made the most delicious desert ever with it: custard with tutti frutti. Of course my grandmother didn’t use frutti from a pot, what do you think, but she bought dried frutti and let it soak overnight in water with sugar (if you have time, you should try this; it taste so much better than the instant variety). What you need: 50 grams custard 65 gram sugar 1 liter milk 1 vanillia pod tutti frutti Drain the tutti frutti. Put sugar and custard together and stir. Scrape the little seeds from the vanillia pod and add to the custard. Add six spoons of the milk to the custard and stir until smooth. Heat the remaining milk and add the custard while stirring the milk until boiling. Let it boil for three minutes. Serve with the frutti. Yummy!

The Little Princess

Finally, I did get some comments on something I made (namely the felted wool cats )! After two months of fruitless blogging without any reaction, I wondered if there were people out there that actually read my blog. But I’m proud to say: there are! Thank you Kelly, Pat, Jill and Denise for your kind regards. I start this new blogging year with refreshed enthusiasm! This last week I worked on some head gear. Because of the upcoming birthday I made a little crown of felted wool for my daughter : Linked to: Creations by Kara (Look what I made) Six Sisters' Stuff (Strut Your Stuff) The Shabby Nest (Frugal Friday) Fingerprints on the Fridge (Feature yourself Friday) Remodelaholic (Remodelaholics Anonymous)   Be different, act normal (Show and Tell Saturday) Joyful Stamper (Inspire me Fridays) My Romantic Home (Show and Tell Friday)  Life Made Lovely (Life Made Lovely Monday)  Skip to my Lou (Made by you Monday)  Between Naps on the Porch (Me...
