Petit Fours Crochet Along

Last week I found this great post at a blog called Grietje Karwietje: a petit four crochet along! Actually it's a couple of months old, but all patterns are still there, so now I'm busy to catch up. There are seventeen patterns in total and I made seven of them by now. Here are the four that are totally finished, the other three I have to embellish with beads and stuff, so I will show them next time.

      I don't know, but here's a link to site of the lady who wrote the patterns for the petit fours: http://grietjekarwietje.blogspot.nl/2014/02/petit-fours-gebundeld.html.
      At the time it was a crochet along and the patterns came in Dutch as well as in English. I just took a look at her site and found out that she bundeled the patterns. Since she then wrote the patterns in English also, I think she has an English version of the E-book, too.

In just a couple of days we will take off to Sicily. I hope temperatures will be a bit better than here, because it's rather cold around here. Crochet Bag

After making this little lunch bag for me, my oldest daughter wanted a bag of her own of course. Plague Doctor (free pattern)

  In the last months I saw him on social media regularly: the Plague Doctor, often accompanied by the words 'Wash Your Hands'. I doubt that plague doctors ever said that, because in their time running water wasn't available for everyone. Besides: people didn't know about bacteria and viruses back in the days, so washing your hands wasn't common use.  People knew you could get sick by having contact with another sick person, though. The plague doctor wore a leather gown, a mask with glass sight holes and a beak that was stuffed with flowers and herbs to hide the stench of reeking wounds, all to protect him from contamination by sick people.The long stick was for poking people to see if they had the plague and if they were still alive.
