Made It! #45

~ I love Pinterest and would like to make a recipe of my boards every week. Since I have lots of recipes pinned (that, until now, I just pinned and only that), I hope this will be a way to reduce the amount of pins on my boards~

This week I made the Italian Biscottis with Cranberries and Pistachios, only I left the cranberries out. I didn't read the recipe very well and when I started preparations I saw there had to be dried cranberries in the cookies instead of fresh. The last time I used fresh cranberries wasn't very successful, so I thought it was best to keep them out and make a nice Christmas Garland from the fresh cranberries to brighten up our kitchen with some Christmas spirit.
So my biscottis only have pistachios in it, but they taste great anyway. Really great, if I may say so. But the best thing wasn't the taste, but the memories of Sicily they brought back.

I think I will bake them again for Christmas, as a present for someone, but to make them more Christmas-y, I this time will put in the cranberries.

For next week my eye fell on another cookie project, but this one's more for the kids. Don't you love these beautiful reindeer cookies? I'm not very good with icing and such, so I hope it will not be a total fiasco, but I really like the cookies, so let's give it a try.

I found these cookies on Pinterest, on the cover of this online magazine (which contains a lot more nice ideas for Christmas and NYE!)

  1. Best of luck with the reindeer cookies Liz. They look so cute, but I don't think I would ever be able to get the icing to look that good.

  3. They sound yummy! I do think the cranberries would add pretty color and delicious flavor. My friend made those deer cookies for a bridal shower that I hosted for another friends daughter. They were darling! Thanks for sharing with SYC.

  4. I love dried cranberries, I add them to my breakfast every morning, but these look really good even without them!
