Flower Dress


Finally got my yarn, so I started to crochet grannies for my blanket immediately! Well, almost :-). First I had to finish the before mentioned dress of course, the one where I crocheted the flowers for. Here is how it worked out, crochet and sewing in one dress:

I have to say: I got a bit excited about the sewing from last weeks, so I think I will go on a little bit longer with it. I found some nice vintage inspired patterns and want to try them all. Try, because some of the items have things (like the zipper in a cigarette pants, for example) that I never did before. Of course I show you all the progress I make (but only if I had success with doing things like zippers or placing busks in a dress, of course, haha)! Besides the cigarette pants I want to make two dresses, a pencil skirt and a top. Hopefully my enthusiasm for sewing will stay for a while, so I finish all the before mentioned items! And for the crochet lovers: of course I will keep working on the blanket, also!

Christmas Scrunchies (free pattern)

 Of all the things I made this year, Crocheted Scrunchie s were the biggest hit. My daughter wears them all the time, in her hair and/or on her arm, so I thought Christmas Scrunchies would be nice, too.  I'm happy to say my duaghter thinks this Christmas variety 'is just as great as the regular, no mom, even better'!  My daughter is thirteen now, so I'm wondering if it will last very much longer, that enthusiasm over mom made things, but I hope it does, because I really enjoy making things for my daughters.   How I made them: Round 1: 40 dc around a regular hair elastic, close with a slip stitch in the first sc (40) Change color Round 2: chain 2 (counts as the first dc), 2 dc in the same stitch, 3 dc in every sc of the previous round, close with a slip stitch in the chain stitch (120) Change color Round 3: chain 2 (counts as the first dc), 1 dc in the same stitch, 2 dc in every dc of the previous round,close with a slip stitch in the chain stitch (240) Change c

Crocheted Scrunchies

My daughter asked me to crochet some scrunchies for her. Not that much work, I thought, so one evening, after she went to bed, I started crocheting. Turned out next morning that the scrunchies that I made weren't exactly the ones she had in mind. She meant scrunchies like the fabric ones: a tunnel with a piece of elastic in it. Luckily she liked mine much better, so I got away well. Not sure if they will be in use as hair bands or bracelets, though. Teenagers think in mysterious ways, aren't they?
