Birthday Dress

I mentioned it a couple of times before, but in august my oldest daughter turns 6! The last two weeks I worked on her Birthday Dress and today I finished it!

Front
Back
The pattern is an old one from Ottobre that I altered a little (in the original pattern the front is the back and vice versa, instead of seven ruffles the original one only has four volants and the original is made of only two different fabrics; the original pattern also had long sleeves, but I like no sleeves at all more).
The flowers of the green top dress are red, pink and turqoise, so for the ruffles of the underskirt I chose that three colors. Each ruffle is a different fabric.

I really love how the dress turned out, if I may say so myself!
And even more important: my girl loves it and wanted to wear it immediately!

  20. this is so darn pretty and I love the colors. And I know the work involved because I am currently making little skirts for my grand daughter and two little family friends and they are supposed to be easy ( but I am new at this : ) What you made takes alot of work and talent! :)
