Aloha Beach Bag

Another variation on the Lunch Bag!

It's made from a pattern I found at Pink Penguin, that came with a very easy step-by-step tutorial on how to make the Lunch Bag. About a year ago I made my first Lunch Bag with this pattern, made of jaguar pluche and pink polkadot cotton.

A couple of weeks ago I showed a Lunch Bag I made of faux patent leather and black/white gingham.

This week I used the basic pattern to create a variation on the before made Lunch Bags. The inside of this bag is made of pink cotton, the outside is made of burlap. I myself always like the combination of the somewhat boring color of burlap with a bright color. I did this combi before when I made a Toy Sack for my daughters and still like it.

Instead of sewing the handles I used bamboo handles that I once bought for another bag, but never used. To embellish the bag I bought a haircomb and took of the frangipani flowers. To attach the flowers to the bag I made a strip of polymer clay and punched little holes in it, so I could sew the strip to the bag like a button. With superglue I sticked the flowers to the strip.

I love the Hawaiian look of my new Lunch Bag. I have been to Hawaii once and dream of going back ever since. Meanwhile I keep myself busy crafting Hawaiian related things :-) .
