Hearts Pendant


Some weeks ago I crocheted two hearts for Valentine’s Day, but didn’t know what to do with them. By now I’m still not sure what to do with the hearts, what can you do with just two hearts after all, so I crocheted some more and made some wall decoration:




The pattern for the big heart in the middle I found at Bunny Mummy, the pattern for the upper heart I found at Felted Button, the other hearts I made up myself.

    So sweet, pretty and festively beautiful. I think one of more of these lovely crochet hearts would look really cute on a cardigan or shirtwaist dress, too.

    The top one is especially interesting. I agree with your question about what can I do with [fill in the blank]. I frequently will see a fun craft item or needlework item and just can't imagine what I'd do with the finished product. Your solution was an excellent one.

In just a couple of days we will take off to Sicily. I hope temperatures will be a bit better than here, because it's rather cold around here. Crochet Bag

After making this little lunch bag for me, my oldest daughter wanted a bag of her own of course. Plague Doctor (free pattern)

  In the last months I saw him on social media regularly: the Plague Doctor, often accompanied by the words 'Wash Your Hands'. I doubt that plague doctors ever said that, because in their time running water wasn't available for everyone. Besides: people didn't know about bacteria and viruses back in the days, so washing your hands wasn't common use.  People knew you could get sick by having contact with another sick person, though. The plague doctor wore a leather gown, a mask with glass sight holes and a beak that was stuffed with flowers and herbs to hide the stench of reeking wounds, all to protect him from contamination by sick people.The long stick was for poking people to see if they had the plague and if they were still alive.
