Brain Storm

Beside the over all improvement as a result from the renovation of our house, there's another great thing: I will get my own place to craft (instead of sitting in the living room or in the kitchen, where my husband throws his coat over the chair and flatten my projects and where my kids grab my craft tools to never be found no more). With my own walls to hang stuff from! I'm an OR nurse with brain surgery as a favorite, so this had to be the first thing to hang:

Our new family member has arrivered! And I never thought I would say this about a rabbit, but what a great animal is Little Hare! I always thought rabbits were just sitting in their cage, eating and pooping, but no, nothing of that. Not with Little Hare, at least. He's smart, he likes to give little kisses, he wants to play and he does a lot of non verbal communication (like running and jumping up in the air as he is happy). The short version: Little Hare is top!!

    Congrats on a dedicated craft space!
    Rabbits are fantastic as pets - fairly quiet, yet still full of personality!! :D

    what a cute bunny! We bunny-sat once and had such a great time with the little thing - though he did poop a lot lol. So great you finally have your own craft space but be warned, just because you have your own space doesn't mean your tools won't disappear! :) I see many more posts on getting that craft room set up and some great crafts for you to share!

    I am a nurse too and ironically, a brain tumor survivor! I would have loved to have seen my craniotomy! Small world...

Christmas Scrunchies (free pattern)

 Of all the things I made this year, Crocheted Scrunchie s were the biggest hit. My daughter wears them all the time, in her hair and/or on her arm, so I thought Christmas Scrunchies would be nice, too.  I'm happy to say my duaghter thinks this Christmas variety 'is just as great as the regular, no mom, even better'!  My daughter is thirteen now, so I'm wondering if it will last very much longer, that enthusiasm over mom made things, but I hope it does, because I really enjoy making things for my daughters.   How I made them: Round 1: 40 dc around a regular hair elastic, close with a slip stitch in the first sc (40) Change color Round 2: chain 2 (counts as the first dc), 2 dc in the same stitch, 3 dc in every sc of the previous round, close with a slip stitch in the chain stitch (120) Change color Round 3: chain 2 (counts as the first dc), 1 dc in the same stitch, 2 dc in every dc of the previous round,close with a slip stitch in the chain stitch (240) Change c

Crocheted Scrunchies

My daughter asked me to crochet some scrunchies for her. Not that much work, I thought, so one evening, after she went to bed, I started crocheting. Turned out next morning that the scrunchies that I made weren't exactly the ones she had in mind. She meant scrunchies like the fabric ones: a tunnel with a piece of elastic in it. Luckily she liked mine much better, so I got away well. Not sure if they will be in use as hair bands or bracelets, though. Teenagers think in mysterious ways, aren't they?
