Spring is in the air!

When I think of spring, I think of bunnies (especially our own bunny Haasje, who, as a Flemish Giant, is actually more a bun). Haasje broke his hind leg last year around this time. He got an extern fixation of the bone and it took me hours to keep the wound and his bench clean, more time to give him medicins against pain and inflammation and some more time to keep him company as much as possible, because he wasn't allowed to hop too much on his broken leg and had to stay in his bench for four weeks. But he did wonderfully well, the tough one, and is hopping around again as if nothing happened.

Anyway, I made two bunnies. The brown one has the color of Haasje (which means little hare, a name my six year old daughter has given him), the gray one is his little girlfriend, that he doesn't have in real life, because I want to be his only love and get all the bunny kisses ;-) .

  In the last months I saw him on social media regularly: the Plague Doctor, often accompanied by the words 'Wash Your Hands'. I doubt that plague doctors ever said that, because in their time running water wasn't available for everyone. Sweetheart Dress

Hope you all had a very good Mother's Day!! And this is the other dress (if you want to know what I mean by ‘other’ check out my previous post ). The inspiration for it I found at a blog called Luv in the Mummyhood  (the dress at that blog comes with a tutorial), but I used a different pattern, namely the same as I used for the dress I showed you a couple of days ago, but without the upper skirt and with a hole in the backside that forms a heart. I love that heart! And if I make a dress for one daughter, the other one obviously wants exactly the same. So I made the first mentioned dress again, but in a bigger size. I’m out of yarn for my crochet blanket and the yarn shop can’t deliver what I need at the moment, so I have to fill my days with something else anyway. My oldest daughter is four years old and she wanted to choose the fabric herself, so of course it's all pink, pink and pink. Result here:

Vintage Dress

Before I went on vacation a couple of weeks ago, I had a plan to make some clothes for myself instead of the usual dresses for my girls (although I made dresses for them, too). I wanted to make a top (check, see here ), a skirt (check, see here ), pants (still to make) and two dresses. The first dress I made a couple of weeks ago (so check, see here ) and the second dress I finished today! This vintage pattern I saw in the july issue of Burda. I only changed some little things here and there in the contrasting lines. The dress I wanted to make initially was one with busks and things, but when I saw this one, I must have this one too. The one with the busks can wait till the next summer. Or maybe I'll make that one anyway in a couple of weeks. We'll see. ~*~ This week my bracelet is featured by Blissful Bucket List .
