Made It! #8

~ I love Pinterest and would like to make one thing every week that I find on Pinterest. Since I have lots of pins (that, until now, I've just pinned and only that), I hope this will be a way to reduce the amount of pins on my boards. It can be anything, from cooking to crochet and from sewing to paper crafts. Just small projects that don't take weeks to make ~

Last week I posted the Heart Shirt to make this week, but I found out later that the link doesn't come with a pattern, so I had to make up the pattern myself, but I think it pretty much looks the same as the original.

I love the dark blue of the shirt in combination with the bluish gray of the yarn. It was a left over of something else I made long ago, but it works out great against the background color of the shirt.

Next week I would like to try a pear recipe. In The Netherlands cooking pears are very popular, especially in winter. The pears are stewed in wine for hours, together with some cinnamon and cloves, until they're colored red. Then they're cooled and served, as a side dish or as dessert. My grandmother was the best cook ever when it came to Dutch cuisine, and cooking pears (stoofperen in Dutch) was a regular side dish in her house. This variation on my grandmother's pear recipe, that I found on Pinterest, is from Ottolenghi.
