Polish Star Pillow

Almost don't dare to say it, but I made another pillow. I must, after seeing this beautiful pattern. 


 

My only excuse is that I want to do a little make over in my bedroom, before we start renovating there next year. But, don't you love this pattern, too?!

  In the last months I saw him on social media regularly: the Plague Doctor, often accompanied by the words 'Wash Your Hands'. I doubt that plague doctors ever said that, because in their time running water wasn't available for everyone. Birthday Party Invitations

Just about three weeks after Christmas, my youngest daughter has her birthday, so after weeks of making decorations and such for Christmas, I always have to hurry to make birthday things in time.  This year she got a book from Sinterklaas called 'Bibi's Bijzondere Beestenboek', meaning Bibi's Book of Extraordinary Animals in Dutch. It's a book with short chapters, each chapter telling about an animal's special feature. One of the chapters is about the anglerfish, a monstrous fish with sharp teeth that's living in the deep waters of the oceans. Its special feature is an angler on his forehead, that has a little light at the end. The light attracts prey, so he doesn't have to search himself in the dark waters of the depths.  For some reason my daughter loved this animal from the moment she saw it, so her birthday has to be themed 'The Anglerfish'. Fisherman's Lamp

This year we stayed in our own country to celebrate vacation once again, due to covid. We booked a couple of vacation houses in different places and went from one to another each week.  After two weeks in a vacation I always long to go home, because of all the ideas I come along while visiting other places. Sounds familiar, or is this just me? This year I saw fisherman's lamps at various places and after the first time I already knew I wanted to make one.  We came back a couple of days ago and I couldn't wait to start. Lots of laundry had to be done, but between loading my washing machine and folding wash after drying, I started with my lamp. Today I finished it! Very happy with the result! For now it will stay on the porch, because it gives it a summery vibe and it still is summer, isn't it? But in a couple of weeks I will start to decorate the porch for fall and then I will move the lamp to our bedroom. The bedroom is totally white, it will fit in perfectly. Pattern: mad
