Made It #26

For my daughter's birthday my parents came over to celebrate with her, because on the big day itself she will be on summer camp. To make the day a bit more festive I baked a Lemon Olive Oil Cake. The taste was good, but the cake was a bit dry though. Luckily I made whipped cream/mascarpone cream for the cake and added a bunch of blueberries on top and that made the whole a bit more moist.

For next week I will make a Thai Green Curry Soup. Don't you love all the rich flavours from the Thai cuisine? And it doesn't take a lot of time to make. Perfect!

  In the last months I saw him on social media regularly: the Plague Doctor, often accompanied by the words 'Wash Your Hands'. I doubt that plague doctors ever said that, because in their time running water wasn't available for everyone. Besides: people didn't know about bacteria and viruses back in the days, so washing your hands wasn't common use.  People knew you could get sick by having contact with another sick person, though. Crochet Bag

After making this little lunch bag for me, my oldest daughter wanted a bag of her own of course. Vintage Dress

Before I went on vacation a couple of weeks ago, I had a plan to make some clothes for myself instead of the usual dresses for my girls (although I made dresses for them, too). I wanted to make a top (check, see here ), a skirt (check, see here ), pants (still to make) and two dresses. The first dress I made a couple of weeks ago (so check, see here ) and the second dress I finished today! This vintage pattern I saw in the july issue of Burda. I only changed some little things here and there in the contrasting lines. The dress I wanted to make initially was one with busks and things, but when I saw this one, I must have this one too. The one with the busks can wait till the next summer. Or maybe I'll make that one anyway in a couple of weeks. We'll see. ~*~ This week my bracelet is featured by Blissful Bucket List .
