Crochet Baubles

With my daughters I made a Christmas Wreath with Perler Beads, as showed here before. The colors we used were green, red, white and gold. We hang the wreath in our kitchen and because I don't like it to use entirely different colors for the kitchen tree than the colors already used, I wanted to have the same colors for the tree ornaments. Red, white and gold were no trouble to find, but green is exceedingly old fashioned, I think, because it was nowhere to be found. So I had to make something myself and came up with these crocheted baubles, that are filled with styrofoam.

    I, too, would love to know the pattern for these crocheted baubles. My daughter has twin toddlers and Christmas decorations are challenging when they are so curious to touch things. These would be great around the bottom of her tree for next year. If I start now, maybe next Christmas will be more relaxing. Please do share the pattern or instructions. Thank you!

    Very very pretty and so original. I love the addition of the green. I tried to eliminate the red from my decor this year. It was really hard. Pinning.

Christmas Scrunchies (free pattern)

 Of all the things I made this year, Crocheted Scrunchie s were the biggest hit. My daughter wears them all the time, in her hair and/or on her arm, so I thought Christmas Scrunchies would be nice, too.  I'm happy to say my duaghter thinks this Christmas variety 'is just as great as the regular, no mom, even better'!  My daughter is thirteen now, so I'm wondering if it will last very much longer, that enthusiasm over mom made things, but I hope it does, because I really enjoy making things for my daughters.   How I made them: Round 1: 40 dc around a regular hair elastic, close with a slip stitch in the first sc (40) Change color Round 2: chain 2 (counts as the first dc), 2 dc in the same stitch, 3 dc in every sc of the previous round, close with a slip stitch in the chain stitch (120) Change color Round 3: chain 2 (counts as the first dc), 1 dc in the same stitch, 2 dc in every dc of the previous round,close with a slip stitch in the chain stitch (240) Change c

Crocheted Scrunchies

My daughter asked me to crochet some scrunchies for her. Not that much work, I thought, so one evening, after she went to bed, I started crocheting. Turned out next morning that the scrunchies that I made weren't exactly the ones she had in mind. She meant scrunchies like the fabric ones: a tunnel with a piece of elastic in it. Luckily she liked mine much better, so I got away well. Not sure if they will be in use as hair bands or bracelets, though. Teenagers think in mysterious ways, aren't they?
